Spinning Demonstrations:

One purpose of our guild is to foster an interest in spinning with the general public. Demonstrating at fairs, museums, farms, schools and other places is one very enjoyable way to interest people in spinning and to educate the public generally about the craft. Our guild tries to have a presence at a number of events every year. We are sometimes contacted and asked to spin at various functions relating to handcrafts. All are welcome to participate, even novice spinners. Basic knowledge of spinning is all that is needed, as the public sees and talks to you for a few minutes only while passing by, and generally asks only the most basic questions. To sign up for any particular demonstration, email Kristen O'Hearn.

Demonstration dates for 2008:

Come out to Lollypop Farm for a fun day of spinning. The Farm Day event is a popular one and many people enjoy seeing the spinning demos. A number of other events are also scheduled, and there will be vendors. You can spin inside, in the barn or outdoors. Lollypop has shorn their sheep for this year and they will let you have a fleece as a thank-you for coming.
