One purpose of our guild is to foster an interest in spinning with the general public. Demonstrating at fairs, museums, farms, schools and other places is one very enjoyable way to interest people in spinning and to educate the public generally about the craft. Our guild tries to have a presence at a number of events every year. All are welcome to participate, even novice spinners. Basic knowledge of spinning is all that is needed, as the public sees and talks to you for a few minutes only while passing by, and generally asks only the most basic questions.
